Antonio aka "Toto" is a proud father of three, community activist for peace against gang violence, winner of 2019 Bermuda Best Chef, and owner of Peppinos private catering company.

Toto's cooking encapsulates his bold, playful and creative personality. From family meal deals and packed lunches, to his entertaining Rollin Smoke BBQ pit that he fills with spiny lobster, lamb chops, and local veggie skewers. 

Toto is following his heart and pursuing his passion with confidence.

One of my first bredrin's from back home, sharing Antonio's personal stories of inspiration comes full circle, and makes me proud to call him a brother. I'll never forget how much olive oil pops used to put on the pasta!

What drew you to your particular creative outlet?
I’ve been working in the hospitality industry all my Life since I was 11 years old... my dad has always been my inspiration to cook.

When did you decide to pursue your passion?
After my dad had passed away I took a semester off and that’s when it clicked I decided to live on his legacy and switched programs in college from business admin to Culinary, and here I am.

Where do you draw inspiration from?
Being in the kitchen with my granny and my dad coming up and enduring the Italian Culture where everything is based around food

What is the biggest lesson that you have learned on your creative journey?
To always humble yourself, and know that - as a chef - it’s a career that will last a lifetime. No matter what is happening in the world, people have to eat!

What are you currently working on?
I’m working on my own kitchenware brand, about to release my knife and a cook book!

Any words of advice for someone getting started in your field?
My advice is: always remember that in this path it takes a lot of hours days holidays weekends and evenings, but if you are really in it, one day you can create your own schedule.
